Updatings
Work goes well on Apex Soldier folks. It’s really great writing a whole new set of characters, even if I love Maur, Kerra and the rest. It has a really different vibe, but focuses on such an important species within the LU that I’m 110% confident that regular LURCers will dig it.
That’s almost all I’ve got for you! I guess writing is what I should be up to though right? I think I’m going to have to set aside some time at some point to finally release the paperbacks, although are any of you really waiting for them?

Legacy Universe: Pure Memorials (Book Three in The Rosewell Sequence) Now Available! (Again)
So I was a bit tired when I wrote that first post. Here’s your links to the NEW book in The Rosewell Sequence! I’m excited! Are you excited!?
Legacy Universe: Pure Memorials (Book Three in The Rosewell Sequence) – Amazon Store Links - UK - US
Here’s the amazing cover art, and then the blurb!

Maur Rosewell and the Jump Cannon crew have been the victims of the Free Man Nation long enough. With the Legacy under control, Champion back in charge, and thee Legacy Force fleet ready to fight, Beta Crew prepare to assault the headquarters of League Teleportation – the home of Cherie Darvian, The Constant Admonition.
However, The Pure Memorial seeks to gain power within the Nation, his own chauvinistic attitude pushing him to battle The Constant Admonition. All the while, Josia 24 waits in the shadows orchestrating the return of ghosts from the Jump Cannon’s past.
Can Maur Rosewell and Beta Crew survive this onslaught? Can Kerra hope to give birth to a healthy child when Maur carries the Legacy?
Once again, here’s the links

Book Three Print Proof Ordered!
Wondering where I am? I’m crafting sirs! Crafting a masterpiece!!
Hopefully. Or just a good book.
I ordered the print proof for Book Three in The Rosewell Sequence last night. I’m feeling confident about the whole process – the first draft was pretty tight in and of itself. March 26th seems like a very firm date for release – I’m pretty committed to hitting it.
I know I also promised a new short story, Lost Voices. It’s totally prepped, I literally just need to do a read through on a Kindle. I’m ultra busy, genuinely, hence the tardiness on this subject. Rest assured you will have new LU in abundance very soon!
It’s also looking very likely that I’ll break away and do the “other idea” I’ve been speaking about. It’ll still be LU, just a totally different story but in relation to something you know. LU is supposed to be expansive and varied, so I’m excited about spreading it out.
Yes yes, lots of work. Bear with me folks!
Brief, Tardy Blog Update
Things are progressing!
Book Three in The Rosewell Sequence is in the editing process. Lost Voices will release soon. I apologise for being terribad at updating the blog lately. Trying to make it an interesting place doesn’t really work if I never post anything.
More will be coming. Stay tuned!
Legacy Universe: Lost Voices Cover Reveal!
Today I’m extremely pleased to reveal the new cover art for an upcoming short story release (probably the start of February now rather than the end of January) titled Lost Voices.
The story examines a communications expert on a combined freight and manufacturing ship called the Sola Mentis, which takes centre stage on the cover, as she experiences odd goings on around her. It could be called a horror story, ’cause it is!
I’ll keep you up to date. The book will be available for free for a couple of days on release, but you’ll only be able to get it for nothing in the long term if you go join LURC. Get it done!
Thanks as ever guys, and thanks to Tom for the awesome art as usual.

If there’s something that readers universally love about the Kindle, it’s the fact you can get so many great books at great prices. What they love more, I assume, is that you can get a lot of good stuff for absolutely nothing too. Nada, zip, etcetera.
However, there’s as much free stuff to wade through as there is paid, and the new Kindle Direct Publishing Select programme means authors can run a free promo of their book for a couple of days, further saturating things.
Below are the three websites that I’d say do the best job of sorting everything out. Bookmark them, and read for free!
Pixel of Ink – Website
Pixel of Ink features at least three free books a day, commonly focusing its efforts on the most popular Kindle genres like Romance, Thriller and Mystery. They also have bargain book posts where good buys can be found, but like the rest of the sites on this list, these are usually paid adverts but with strict quality guidelines based on reader reviews. A lot of the site’s biggest fans connect with it through Facebook, getting free book updates straight into their social timelines.
That felt like a very futuristic thing to say.
The site also has a section for free Nook books, for those of you that are from the US and prefer Barnes & Noble’s eReader.
Kindle Nation Daily – Website
Kindle Nation Daily, or KND as it is frequently referred to, post ‘Free Book Alert’ articles everyday, giving you a comprehensive overview of the books that have moved to free promotions in the last twenty four hours. It has more ‘bargain book’ style posts than Pixel of Ink, but those loaded Alert posts will keep you busy for hours.
They also have a eBookTracker page, which is in beta, that allows you to track the sales and price discounts on your favourite authors. If you’re a real bargain hunter, you should get this set up quick, and save valuable pennies when those price cuts hit.
Ereader News Today – Website
ENT probably has more in common with Pixel of Ink that it does Kindle Nation Daily, having four to five posts a day dedicated to free books. It also features book of the day paid advertising, and those books may well be worth checking out too. If you’re just looking for the free stuff, then they have a page for that. Extremely convenient.
No fancy book tracker, but ENT is heavily present on Facebook.
‘Fan’ Art
Check out my books on Amazon Kindle! Visit the Books page for other services.

I don’t like using the term ‘fan’ too much, seems a little egotistical, however ‘fan art’ is the most easily understood term.
I’ve received emails recently where people have suggested they might like to do some creative stuff based on the LU, so I thought I’d make my stance on it publicly known.
…
I’d totally love it. Flattery? It would have it.
If anything trickles through I’ll set up a page on the newly revamped site (I hope you like it) to feature any such creations. So get your crayons out!
My email address is, as ever, martin@legacy-universe.com
Gentle Reminders – FREE but for less than 24 hours!
This promotion is now over. Thanks to everybody that downloaded! Make sure to sign up for LURC.

Gentle Reminders is free, and is currently sitting nicely on the Science Fiction chart. This is a bit of a promo thing, but if you haven’t picked up the book before now, give the image above a click, or click here for the UK version, and you can get it for the best price of all.
Thanks to anybody who has purchased previously. It’ll be making a prompt return to its new 99c price tomorrow. Both Wandering Man and Prize fighting will also be moving to that price point as soon as it updates across all sites. This might take a while (Read: an age) but if you’re a LURC member it doesn’t matter – you get all short stories free forever! Go get signed up on the appropriate page.
Got a blog post at HuffPo about good free book websites. It’s going through approval, but I’ll repost here once it’s up.
Hope you’re all having a good day!

2012 in the Legacy Universe – Announcements
Check out my books on Amazon Kindle! Visit the Books page for other services.

Happy New Year everybody!
Hope you all had a great time. Just thought I’d quickly announce some exciting Legacy Universe stuff for the year ahead.
Firstly, the third book in The Rosewell Sequence is well under way, and save anything bad happening, will release towards the latter part of March 2012 as planned. It continues the adventures of the Jump Cannon, Maur, and their struggle against the Free Man Nation.
After that… well. I may be compelled to write the fourth book, I can’t promise I won’t be, but the other possibility will be that I’ll write a story that has been lingering in my head since Elrik first appeared in the second Rosewell book. The Apex Soldier Sequence would be its name. That might happen this year. Might!
I’ve also got a short story sitting in the can, so to speak, which will release before the end of January. It’s called Lost Voices and has definite leanings towards horror. Within the Legacy Universe? We’ve got it all good sir.
However, the most immediately exciting thing is that SF Book, a pretty outstanding site focused on science fiction book reviews, will be hosting the serialisation of GENTLE REMINDERS.
Right now, right now I tell you, you can read the first chapter over there – go give them a visit, I’m pretty pleased about this.
Once again, a very Happy New Year to you all, and thanks for reading in 2011 and into 2012.
